From a window on Whitehead Street To a storefront that works on a phone.

The problem.

A boutique in Old Town is discovered by whoever walks past the window. Online, that job falls to the first screen: the clothes have to read instantly, the designers have to be findable, and the person deciding where to shop this afternoon is doing it on a phone. The storefront needed the feel of the boutique rather than a catalogue of SKUs.

The client.

Float Key West is an island-inspired fashion boutique in the heart of Old Town, at 624 Whitehead Street. OMG designed and built its Shopify storefront to bring the in-store experience online, so the curated resort wear and statement accessories read as clearly on a screen as they do hanging in the shop.

The idea.

The window display is the design brief.

What we did.

We built on Shopify and let the clothes lead. New arrivals and Shop by Designers are the front door, with clothing, accessories, brands, and sale close behind, and search, account, and cart kept one tap away in the header. Product pages carry the photography, and the experience is designed for the phone in someone’s hand on the sidewalk.

The finished project.

The store is live at shopfloatkeywest.com: new arrivals, designer collections, clothing and accessories, and the boutique’s own voice in the copy, describing resort wear and accessories hand-picked from brands around the world.

The takeaway.

A boutique website has to do what the window does: put the best thing in the frame first, then make walking in effortless.
