About an hour twenty by car, regular site visits during active engagements. Key Largo is the closest of the four major Keys towns to the mainland market — a different driver profile than the rest of the Keys (more weekend traffic, more day-trippers from Miami-Dade and Broward, more dive-specific business) — and we tune the marketing for that audience rather than copying a Marathon strategy down to Mile Marker 100.
Yes. Dive shops in Key Largo and the Tavernier corridor have a specific market — most of the inbound traffic is dive-trip planners coming from the mainland or from international flights to MIA — and the SEO opportunity is real. We have built sites and run SEO for dive-adjacent businesses; the keyword sets, the conversion flows, and the content cadence are all tuned to that buyer.
Slightly. The proximity to Miami-Dade means a number of mainland businesses compete for the same local-pack categories, especially in tourism and lodging. The competitive intensity is higher than Marathon but lower than Key West. The on-page work has to be tighter, the GBP needs more attention, and the review-velocity discipline is more important than in the Middle Keys.
Yes — Tavernier sits between Key Largo and Islamorada and we consider it part of the Upper Keys operating footprint. Clients in this corridor are billed the same as Key Largo-proper engagements.
Eco-tourism is the largest single buyer category we see for Key Largo — John Pennekamp, the reef, the Everglades-adjacent backcountry, the manatee and crocodile habitats. Content for these operators rewards specificity (named reefs, named tour types, named seasons) and rewards photography that actually shows the underwater or the mangrove — not stock library shots.
